Assistant Manager – Sales
Job Description
Our client is looking for an Assistant Sales Manager to join their Logistics team, the role is ideal for someone who wants to progress in their sales career and move from inside to outside sales. Although based in Suffolk, this is a national role and so the individual must be prepared to travel around the UK as required to meet customers.
They are looking for a talented salesperson to join their small but focused team, selling advanced supply chain logistics management services (‘ISCMS’) as well as FCL, LCL, air freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation and customs brokerage services.
The role is NOT limited to the traditional selling of ocean freight rates*; they are expecting someone who will embrace their company philosophy as well as comprehensively learn what product they offer and why clients should choose them over their competitors.
Role Requirements –
At least 1 year’s sales experience
Understand and actively target the right clients to fit our products.
Comfortable with Change Management – agility is required to keep up with the company direction and a rapidly changing logistics, shipping and IT environment
Maintain healthy working relationships and gain the trust of our existing customer base
Identify business development potential in existing clients to increase profitability of accounts
Have working knowledge of the logistics and shipping industries in order to have informed, consultative style interactions with our clients
The successful candidate must produce accurate quotes
Be a good communicator – including working with our Inside Sales and Customer Services departments, as well as weekly reporting of activities via the company CRM software
Coverage of clients is handled on an ad hoc basis, i.e. not necessarily limited to specific geographies within the UK
