Job Description
Our Felixstowe client is seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Coordinator to join their team
Processing of import and export customs declarations. A pivotal role that requires attention to detail, experience is Excel is advantageous but ultimately the ability to expand on basic knowledge and learn new systems is more important. The role requires a strong team ethic and also the ability to work proactive on own
Duties
Complete import and export customs declarations, following standing or customers’ instructions
Management of mailbox, documents and folders
Liaising with EU offices to complete end to end clearances
Customer focused and a natural communicator, able to build excellent relationships internally and externally
Managing workload, completing all declarations in a timely manner to meet customer KPI’s and prioritise urgent requests
Maintain and improve knowledge of customs processes and procedures particularly around CPC’s and HMRC Tariff and preferences
Rating for all jobs and completing month end invoicing for accounts
Dealing with various modes of transport – Road, Sea & Air
Dealing with a variety of commodities
Verifying documents received for customs purposes are compliant and correct
Manage job folders, rating and invoicing for customers
Liaising with customs and port authorities
Understanding incoterms
Experience
Minimum 1 years customs clearance experience including a good understanding of CDS, CNS, Destin8, GOV.UK applications
