Job Summary: Our client is seeking a seasoned and meticulous Senior Export Operations Supervisor to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of export regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record in managing international shipments, including experience with trailers. This role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the export process from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and accurate shipment of goods.
Prepare and review export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transportation of goods.
Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to clients and resolving any issues that arise.
Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and service providers to optimize cost and service levels.
Provide expert advice and support to clients on export procedures, documentation, and regulations.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all export activities.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Manage and coordinate the use of trailers for the transportation of goods, ensuring proper loading, securing, and compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in export freight forwarding or a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and other relevant tools.
Ability to lead a team whilst still remaining hands on with operations.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Experience in managing trailers and understanding of trailer logistics and safety standards.
Benefits:
Competitive salary of £35,000 to £45,000 p/a depending on experience
Bonuses paid 2 x per year (January & July) after 6 months service
