Job Description: The Logistics Co-ordinator will manage the distribution of manufactured garden products from two national depots. Key responsibilities include:
• Organising the haulage of products to customers across the UK using third-party hauliers.
• Consolidating customer orders into full loads and obtaining fixed haulage quotes.
• Coordinating with depots, customers, and hauliers to ensure smooth deliveries.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Processing received goods, including customs clearance and purchase invoice processing.
• Handling haulage invoices and filing Proof of Delivery (POD) documents.
• Completing customs entries for incoming goods by truck.
Seasonal Variation: The role has a seasonal aspect, with peak activity from February to July.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Excellent communication skills, including a confident and polite telephone manner and the ability to write concise and effective emails.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel is useful, but the primary tool will be a bespoke IT system.
• Strong team-working skills and a willingness to support and assist colleagues.
• Strategic thinking and multitasking abilities are essential.
• Experience in logistics and transport planning, along with regional geographic knowledge, is beneficial.
Additional Information:
• Office-based role with free parking.
• 40 hours per week (8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday).
